Every bit counts

Learn about our partnership

Global Coin Solutions began working with Air Canada and the Air Canada Foundation right from our start.

The Every Bit Counts program is one of the Air Canada Foundations core fundraising initiatives. The Every Bit Counts program offers passengers onboard Air Canada flights and in Maple Leaf Lounges (across Canada and around the world) the opportunity to donate loose change of any currency through in-flight available envelopes.

In our 9+ year partnership with the Air Canada Foundation, Global Coin Solutions has processed in excess of $1 Million worth of mixed currency donations. Support from the Every Bit Counts program has been provided to organizations such as: Breakfast Club of Canada, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Food Banks Canada, and Second Harvest.

In 2018, Air Canada and the Air Canada Foundation collected donations to support the players of the Humboldt Broncos and the families impacted by the tragedy in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. As part of this initiative, Global Coin Solutions waived our processing fee for all of the funds collected. As a result, a staggering $60,692.28 was collected and added to a $125,000.00 donation made by Air Canada directly.

Every bit counts

over 10 years supporting canadian children's charities!

Air Canada and the Air Canada Foundation have provided support to hundreds of Canadian charities from coast to coast.

While the focus on collections is on the international flights, Air Canada also collects on longer domestic flights, asking passengers to donate whatever cash they may have with them. Whatever the amount, nothing is too small.

If you don't see a donation envelope in your seat pocket or miss the announcement about the Every Bit Counts program, don't worry ... let a passing Flight Attendant know that you would like to make a donation or hand your donation to the crew when you disembark and they will make sure your donation is collected.

The Every Bit Counts program also has collectors conveniently placed in most of their Maple Leaf Lounges around the world.

3 major airports in Canada have 1 collector in each of the domestic, trans-border, and international lounges:
YUL - Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport

YYZ - Toronto Pearson International Airport

YVR - Vancouver International Airport

Other Canadian airports have 1 lounge and each have a collector:
YYC - Calgary International Airport

YWG - Winnipeg Richardson International Airport

YOW - Ottawa International Airport

International airports also have collectors in the Maple Leaf Lounges:

LAX - Los Angeles International Airport

LGA - LaGuardia Airport

LHR - London Heathrow Airport

FRA - Frankfurt Airport

CDG - Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

The Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) also supports the Air Canada Foundation and has 2 large globes located in their airport: 1 before security and 1 after.

Regardless where the airport is located, all of the funds come back to and support Air Canada Foundation initiatives across Canada.

The next time you see a collector or get asked to make a donation while on a flight, remember:

It all adds up and Every Bit Counts!
